The reason no one will be able to give you an average cost (in my opinion) is because we have no info on what lines are needed, how far they are going, what floor is this on, is there a stack near by to tie into or a new line run all the way to the main for drain etc.

I fixed up the house a tiny bit and put it on the market and sold it for a loss.Lots of lessons learned here but the main ones include:-never trust a home inspection report when you didn't hire the home inspector-never trust a salesperson's ARV when that salesperson is trying to sell you the property-always get a second set of eyes on a project as I felt pretty helpless sitting in my house outside Toronto and only hearing from one perspective-get the lockbox code from the start so you don't have to ask for it laterIncidentally, I could've exited this project with a potential profit.

For those that said I should be buying new: I have shied away from this idea with this particular property mainly because my husband and I are toying with possibly moving back into this house within the next year or two (we had to move temporarily for his work) and if so, I am planning a major remodel/upgrade to the laundry area with all new top of the line appliances at that time.
