If the tenant has a cooking accident and ruins the hardwood floors, countertops and glass cook top, who will pay?  

We typically steer away from properties that have oil heat (because we have one already that can sometimes be a nightmare if you don't have a very responsible tenant occupying the home). 

My wife is Thai, a great cook, and happy to have company.  

There are true professionals out here on BP, and there are also weasel guru snake oil salesmen, and it honestly sounds to me like you are not yet able to sort out the two.

The decline in the price of oil and the political culture will be anchors for years to come.

Everyone snapped all they could off the market in past months and now they're waiting to see how oil jobs (or loss of) will affect the local market.

We can't confirm my husband's relocation as he is working for oil and gas and the industry is in a bit of a flux right now.We intend to live in the condo but if he does relocate, which we will not find out before June, we need to move and plan to rent the unit.
