As I'm still 35 years away from "retirement" age, and believe that I can sustain a state of financial freedom in about 3-5 years or so, I will not be contributing to the account until I have substantially more after-tax cash flow than I need to sustain my lifestyle indefinitely in the present.I do, however, take the match - And I only do that because I have researched many different outcomes, and believe that I can make the money in my 401(k) plans accessible and relevant to my life (and decision-making) in an advantageous way far earlier than 59 1/2.
