I saw this multi-purpose commercial property,  6000 SF warehouse space, 2500SF for retail office, 3000 SF former restaurant. with 2 - studio and 2 - 1 bedroom apartment on 2nd floor, Selling for 550K, it was bought by the ower in 2018 for 340K.

We refinanced our condo and used the cash out as the down payment.

I think it would be much better for us two to buy a house in the place where she's going to study (she would use one room) rent out the other bedrooms than paying $750 herself for something she doesn't own, (I've ran the numbers and she will be living rent free if we manage to purchase a house there).
