I believe the core of this belief comes from the human need to self rationalize.

I will take it a step further and add the core problem here is most people lack the skillset to manage properties.

Many books here on biggerpockets mention the "core 4" AKA, the deal finder, the property manager, the contractor, and the lender.

So far I have been working on putting together my "core 4"  and have built a good network of professionals that I think can/will handle the jobs I need.
