Spruce trees on property
I am relatively new to this. I have a property in Michigan. There are several Colorado blue spruces on the property. The tenant is complaining that these trees have Canker and wants them chopped down. I don’t think they are harmful to humans (except if they rot and fall on somebody). The cost of doing this could be quite high. So I am looking for suggestions as to what my options as a landlord are? This is a problematic tenant with a lot of demands like wanting new fencing and landscaping etc. would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Have an arborist come in and look at the trees. They will be able to tell you if they need to be removed or not.
If this is a new tenant, I'd tell them they are clearly not happy with the property and give them a week to decide if they want to stay for the duration of the lease or break it at the end of July with no penalty. The trees, fence and landscaping are presumably the same as when they looked at the place, so if nothing has changed, learn to say no. Also find out local laws and if you are able to not renew their lease when it comes up for renewal or if you give them notice, how long that is (eg 30, 60 or 90 days).
