Rookies, beating the Pride Monster

Sireno Mattie
Posted

Alright, here's one where our seniors can spread some wisdom to all us newbies. Especially on your first few deals, how do you balance taking on a "doable" project, versus your pride? How does one avoid getting over their head with a project that they're not qualified for simply because they think, "I can do/fix that?"

@Sireno Mattie

in my opinion, there has been way too much emphasis on "mindset" and not on reality.  if you're not in a strong financial position, then don't start investing, period.  it doesn't have much to do with pride.

with that said, the best way to start is with a house hack.  there is no other strategy that even comes close.  so if you can house hack, house hack.

here's a good thread
