Gary IN - Buy or Stay away

I noticed that Gary IN has listings at a very low price. I did do some research but have never been/visited. As far as a property to hold and rent out, is it a good place to start or should we just stay away?

Gary is a great place to invest, but I wouldn't recommend starting here as a beginner unless you're from here or from close by. Do some unfamiliar people start here and succeed? Of course, but I just don't think it's the easiest market to understand for an outsider, and a lot of them fail because they only see price. But they don't understand the city Block by Block. Even a lot of seasoned investors who are not familiar with Gary fail. But if you're up for the challenge, you can make out big. You should definitely visit first and come to a local REIA meeting. There are several of them around. I'm a part of one of them called NICIA.org, part of which focuses specifically on Gary, so come visit and DM me if you have questions.
