New RE Investor looking for mentor on the CT shoreline/New Haven area.

Hi, I'm a Graphic Designer that is new to BiggerPockets. I'm looking for a mentor in New Haven CT or the CT shoreline area. Anyone out there interested in helping a newbie gain knowledge? I've got extensive experience in DR marketing and web designing. Could be informative for both of us.

Welcome, @Kim Handelman ! I'm in SECT and it's always great to see other CT residents here on BP.

You've got the right idea, offering something in return. I don't consider myself mentor material (yet!), but you can find a ton of info reading articles/blogs here as well as listening to the podcasts. You might also consider joining CTREIA, which has a lot of networking opportunities.

Good luck!

@Kim Handelman

Thanks so much Karin and Paul, great info here. I'm going to the Hartford REIA in a few weeks and have read the BiggerPockets Ultimate Beginner's Guide. I'm starting my business plan although not as easy as I thought it would be because RE Investing isn't a traditional business model. I'll download the newest BP book and dive right in!
