How to find dirt cheap properties here in northern virginia. I am just trying to make my feet wet in this  game.

When you say "How to find" I assume your talking about methods, not geographic location.

Cheap property = distressed property.

Anything that is ready for the retail market won't be discounted much.  You need to understand that anything that is cheap will by definition either have problems, or someone who needs to get out fast.

You can find lots of opportunities on the auctions sites like homesearch, auction.com, or hubzu, or hudhomestore.com.  You can also go to the courthouse steps.
