Reducing Property Taxes

Posted

Hi All,

I am new to BP and looking at how to help protest/reduce my property taxes for SFHs in the Houston Area. I thought I would crowdsource ideas in BP since I have seen so many helpful posts on other topics.

Thank You!

Hi @Vince Kallarackal and welcome to BiggerPockets!

We did this for a bunch of our rental properties in Georgia back in 2015, and it was one of the smartest moves we ever made! Not only did we receive significant tax reductions, but the mere act of challenging the assessment locks the valuation in for three years.

I just checked with the company contact that helped us in Atlanta, and they do serve Texas as well, so I'm PMing you with the contact information!

For the record, I receive ZERO compensation for making this referral!
