Tech Sales to Real Estate Agent

Hello BP Nation!

I am just in the beginning phase of transitioning from a 5 year career in Tech sales to dive head first into real estate as an agent here in the SF Bay Area.

I have a good friend who has had a lot of success over the last few years in real estate who is creating a team and wants me to build it with him as his first agent under the Intero Group in the South Bay.

What my question is. What would be best for me personally and professionally? Just starting out as an agent with ample sales experience.

Do I help my friend build a business and team from the ground up or would it be better to find and join an established team at a COMPASS or Keller Williams or something like that.

Thank you in advance for your input!!

Hey @Maxwell Teranen, in my opinion, one of the most important things when looking for your first brokerage is training.  When you are getting your license, they don't teach you how to be an agent so getting with a brokerage that will is priceless.  There are lots of teams that do provide training and most new agents start out on a team to get lots of experience.  I would ask your friend what the training process would look like and how they are going to get and process leads.  Not all lead generation techniques will speak to you.  If they are going to rely on cold calling but you would rather buy Zillow leads, there would be a disconnect there.
