Finding Portfolio Lender

Good afternoon BP family members

.   Does anyone recommend portfolio lender in Bay area? My income debt ratio is not good enough to get a bigger loan. I get pre-approved about 750k, but in Bay area market, I can barely buy anything. 

.   I did want to get something out of state, but for rookie in this business, I would prefer to have something I can see and visit once in awhile. 

   Please advise if you have any thoughts or suggestions.
