Loan Processing / Underwriting career
Hello, I am looking to get into Loan Processing as a stepping stone towards becoming a Mortgage Underwriter and was hoping to get some advice from people currently in this industry.
If you are currently in this field what would you say are the challenges and benefits of working in this space?
Also is now a good time to get into the field?

This will be an uphill battle. The industry as a whole is downsizing right now, and Ops folks are the first ones to go and the last roles to get added. Also, AI is consolidating these roles so that there are fewer and fewer available because there is less need.
