Got this idea from Brandon's book
Just made a Craig's ad seeking handyman/contractor:
Must be licensed/insured.
3 references
Basic carpentry/plumbing/electrical/painting - just general apartment maintenance and tenant turnover.
Must communicate well- return calls/texts/leave voicemails
Got a bunch of emails over 3 days. Filtered out those that didn't meet my qualifications. Now I am organizing the rest in a spreadsheet with all their info and saving copies of their insurance.
Next step is to call their references.
I'm not time pressured. There is no job that needs to be done right now. I will have a 6 yr tenant move out at end of April. I usually do this work myself but I have a baby coming early May so this time I'm planning to hire it all out.
Thanks @Brandon Turner for your 2 latest books. There was a lot that I already knew but it helps to hear it again and get inspired to tighten up operations.
