Beginning the journey of BRRRR investing Fort Worth, TX. What is the best way to go about finding a quality contractor to execute the rehab without breaking the bank?

@Cade Carlisle thanks for posting! Always great to hear from a fellow Texan - especially one from Fort Worth. Bigger Pockets does have some good state specific forums and Texas is their most active forum. Feel free to post there if you ever need some more "local" advise about things.

Now, for me "breaking the bank" means - can't rely on the contractor, budget goes over what they stated, no communication, cutting corners, not doing what they say, etc.  Usually the cheapest rarely is.  So how do we find reliable contractors if we have never used them?  I would highly recommend to get suggestions from local real estate investors.  Meaning, networking with locals and asking why they use and what their experience is like.  We have lots of real estate groups that meet in our area.  Will certainly share any if you would like.  But for me the best contractor I know is Finishing Touches - http://www.finishingtouchesremodeling.com/ - they perform about 230 renovations per years.  And they only work with real estate investors. They have a great online system where they provide updates that you can see pictures and videos and a calendar so you can see dates when things will be completed.  Now, I do use them for rental properties.  So if you are looking for high-end flips, maybe a different one would be better?  Maybe, but I like them for renovating my rental properties.

Hopefully some of that helps.  Thanks!
