Driving for Dollars - Direct Mail Campaign Advice

I've been doing some driving for dollars and I've gathered a decent list of properties I'm interested in with owner's names. I'm really trying to dig up some deals in this tough market. I'm embarking on my first direct mail campaign and I'm looking for some advice or tips & tricks. Where did you find success? What would you avoid? How did you keep costs down? Any input or feedback on a direct mail campaign would be greatly appreciated.

Direct mail is one of the most expensive ways to market. Make sure the addresses you are sending these mailers to are extremely calculated.
