Should I hire an agent or sell my house myself and save the 50k commission

I'm a new investor, I own the house I live in California, and just bought my first investment property in the midwest. I'm thinking of selling my house in California to move to the east coast and invest there with the money I make on that house.

If I sell the house, should I hire an agent and go through the usual process, or sell it myself and save the 50K that I will pay for agent commission?

Should I even consider passing my real estate license since it will only be in 8 to 10 month from now?

Your decision here shouldnt necessarily be between you selling it and an agent. Just because someone is licensed, doesnt mean they are actually good at what they do. There are tons of terrible agents out there. There are far far far more bad ones than good ones.

So if you are hiring someone, just make sure they are really good. One of the problems with the industry is the really good ones, and the really bad ones, often charge the same amount of money. So you dont want to pay $50k for a crappy job.
