Auction.com Experts Wanted

I have seen some great deals on Auction.com but it seems very difficult to actually bid.  Many of the auctions require you to go to a specific location, with a cashiers check for the purchase price (that you really wouldn't know because there will be live bidding involved), and then you can bid.  This seems very difficult.  I would really like to make contact with someone who buys on Auction.com successfully, knows how it works and could at least help me get a general understanding.  Thanks.
