There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays

There really is no place like home for the holidays. Whether it's in present day, or from memories past, we all have stories of how our homes made each day, not just the holidays, bright. For me, it all started with family and friends telling a story, sharing a laugh or eating a home cooked meal. These experiences helped to make me the person I am today.

In my part of the country, it was always cold for Christmas, so being inside a warm home was very comforting. Of course it didn't come without work! Home maintenance, including shoveling snow, (while not my favorite as a child) instilled a sense of responsibility that would later shape the way I took care of my family and my business.

(I can still see Mom out there in her long wool coat, those ridiculous zip-up rubber boots with the fake fur on them...and oh yes, the scarf tied on her head...shoveling as hard as any man every could!!) Christmas was always for the kids and sharing it with my son would become the greatest Joy I have ever known. But no matter what holiday you celebrate, I'm sure your homes are filled with love and celebration as they offer so much beyond those creature comforts.

As a Realtor, I understand the value of owning a home or investment property. The equity, tax deductions and returns on your investment are certainly some of the financial gains one makes with owning a home or investment. There is also the personal satisfaction of owning something, calling it your own, and doing with it what you want. These are just some of the aspects that make owning property a wise choice. Buying and selling property is a very personal transaction that brings people together.

So remember, not just for the holidays, but everyday, make your own residence or the investment property you purchase, a home for all to enjoy and share memories. Happy Holidays, Everyone!
