First Eviction
I bought a property at foreclosure auction. It is occupied. I posted notice to vacate. No response to door knocks. Heard dogs barking inside. 3 days later filed petition to evict against previous owner. Got a call after filing petition from occupant. Occupant is not the previous owner, but someone else. Do I need to re-file the petition to evict against the occupant? Does the petition to evict against the owner apply to other occupants? What should I do?

Alternatively, you can talk to the occupant and ask them to leave or you can pay them, let say $500 or $1000 to move out without trashing your place; you'll pay them after they've moved, of course. It would cost you that much with a lawyer to evict them anyway and they might wreck before they leave. Just a thought.
Good luck!
