Estate sold via sheriff auction, heir just found

First my apologies, I was unsure which forum.  Short version:  Owner of property died 4 years, 11 months ago.  Property sold at Sherrif auction in October with final hearing for release of funds on 12/11.  Direct heir just found.  Will this stop the process Considering they are interested in property?  There are vehicles, furniture, personal effects, etc..  If I purchased the property do those go to the heir automatically?  Are they allowed on the property before this court date?  Any advice appreciated!  This is in Kansas and the heir is located out of state.

@Marilee Haney You need to talk to an attorney probably.  There is a right of redemption that will depend on the state as to how long that is.
