Reporting Rent Payments to Credit Unions

Need some thoughts on this. The property management system I use now has the capability to allow tenants to opt-in for credit reporting. Is this something I can require or simply inform all future tenants that payments are reported and force it?

@Tylere Weaver most PMC's charge a monthly fee for a "Tenant Benefits Package" to tenants that includes the cost of reporting payments to credit bureaus.
