One Roommate being taken off lease due to protective order

Tom Thomson

The person being taken off the lease is not wanting to live there anymore and by law can terminate early in Indiana due to protective order being filed against roommate/girlfriend.   He is asking about the security deposit.   I need to check with my attorney, but I would assume 100% of the security deposit stays with me until the other roommate's lease expires and she moves out?   Unfortunately, I know my lease does not specify how the security deposit is handled when you have two unrelated people signing the lease.   How do others handle security deposits in roommate situations if one roommate moves out before the other?
