Out of State Investor (Evictions in Detroit)

Hello!

An out of state investor owns property in Detroit and must start the eviction process on a tenant.  Is the investor required to file the paperwork and attend hearings or can they designate someone in their absence to handle the eviction process?

Thank you in advance, your responses are greatly appreciated.

Z.

I'm not familiar with Michigan law, but here in Ohio, you can designate an agent to handle this on your behalf. This can be an attorney, a property manager, or a combination of the two.
