Hi,

Any investor invest in Student Housing near University Of Texas campus like UT Austin, UT Dallas, Texas Tech Lubbock etc... I see all campus are growing a lot and there can be recession proof opportunity in these areas.

What kind of investment is ideal in this neighborhood? Single family / Multi Family

I (will soon) invest in the east Texas area, lots of schools are growing extremely rapidly there... I would stay away from UT Austin just because of price, and the competition is incredibly saturated.

The one problem I see with UT Dallas is that it is a commuter school, and majority of students live at home from what I know.

Texas Tech may be a good bet, especially if it has long term growth. The one weak point for tech would be that the Big 12 (a huge selling point for the school) is dying so they may not be a part of a major athletic conference after 2025, and that could hurt enrollment.

From my experience I see that students prefer homes as opposed to apartments/Multi family.

If you have any questions please let me know.
