Driving for Dollars VS Lead Websites (Listsource, etc)

Hi BP,

I've been reading on Driving for Dollars.

It sounds great, but wouldn't most of the properties I find by driving 4 dollars be on listsource or any other lead website?

I understand this saves money, but it does take up a lot of time.

Would I be able to find properties that wouldn't be on listsource or other lead websites?

And once I find the properties, I go into my County Assessor (http://assessor.lacounty.gov), but I can't seem to find where I would type in the addresses?

Thanks for your help :)

Driving doesn't need to take up too much time. I usually spend 2-3 hours early on a weekend morning driving different neighborhoods. It not only helps me really learn the neighborhoods but you're going to find some houses that are in really bad shape (or vacant) while driving that you might not get from your list, depending on what criteria you use. I verbally record the addresses in my phone, have my daughter input them into excel (doesn't take long) then I use PropertyRadar (@Sean OToole's company), and look up details such as mailing address and when the house was purchased/refi'd. You could also hire a VA for cheap to look up your addresses on the county website but I like PropertyRadar for the extra level of insight.

At the end of the day it doesn't cost me much time or money and I now have more leads than I can afford to mail (no more driving for a while).

I tried looking up an address on the website you provided but I didn't see a separate mailing line. Not sure where to find it in your county.
