Wood floors in a 5 unit apartment building. Good or Bad??

Hi there! I just acquired a five unit building with two stories ( one in basement, 2 on each floor). I'm going to be updating and remodeling all the units to a nice and more modern look (New kitchen cabinets, tile floors, granite counters, etc). The 4 units on top all have wood floors and are in great shape. I am thinking of refinishing them but am concerned about noise to the units below. I would love to get your opinions on that or carpet, either if you have experience with it or just have thoughts on if. Thanks! Kyle
