Self Directed IRA

Hello, I am a newbie in real estate investing and have not yet bought my first property. I have been looking at some different financing options and i'm getting close to my first deal. Meanwhile my mom expressed that she wants to start investing as well. She has 403b plan from the hospital she works at. Does anybody know if she can take money out of the 403b and place it in a self directed ira and if that is possible, can I use the money (through my llc) to invest in buy and hold properties?

The last line is the key. Equity Trust does not support the LLC. What they are saying is not that you cannot do this, just that you cannot do this with them.

There are many other self-directed IRA custodians that do support the IRA LLC model.

Typically, the best starting point is with a consulting or legal firm that establishes the LLC entity specifically for IRA use. They will have a custodian or two that they work with. If you work with a quality firm and not just a document mill, you will also get to speak with someone who really understands this field and can educate you on your options.
