Hi folks. As a remote investor, I was looking at the tax abatement incentives in Columbus OH and I'm curious if anyone on here has experience with successfully getting one.

What is the process and the timeline?

What are the things to look out for?

What kind of value add and what $ amount of value add is required to qualify for tax abatement?

What does it cost and where to start?

It will be incredibly helpful to hear from folks who have been through the process recently. Thanks.

You need to make sure you’re pulling at least 1 permit to qualify. You also need to make sure you’re in the necessary location to qualify. There’s 2 phases to the process. You’ll need to keep track of expenses for the phase 2 filing. Best to consult with a local attorney or expert who can do those for you.
