Belize Vacation Rental

Does anyone have any experience in owning vacation rental property in Belize? I have been doing some reading on it but I would prefer to talk with someone who is doing it to get their perspective on several aspects of it including ease of purchase, maintenance, tax issues, foreign ownership rules, entities, etc.

I know Belize City is a bit of a hole, but there are some beautiful areas further along the coast, and some island property off the coast. Assuming the sea levels don't rise substantially in the next 20 years and they are no more.. :)
