How do I best get smoke smell out of an apartment?

I inherited a tenant that smoked with a building that I purchased. He has left and we have had it professionally cleaned, replaced carpeting and painted walls and it's better but still smells stale. Any suggestions on what we can do to give the apartment a fresh clean smell?

Thanks,

Bryce

I would have the ducts cleaned, furnace/AC system cleaned as much as possible, change the filter, and then run an ozone machine with fans set up to circulate the air for 48 hours. You can only run this machine while the unit is vacant, and not on a shared HVAC system. Ozone is an unstable and breaks down other organic molecules and makes the smell disappear.
