Does your condo board also accepts only cheques for condo fees? Mine does not accept anything else and are refusing to change that. Wondering how commonplace that is. Thanks.

Sounds like your condo board is a generation out of touch ... if I were to take out tenant population as an example, 80% of those under 30 do not have chequing accounts. In the past five years, electronic payment (Interac e-Transfers or PADs) has become the most prevalent method of payment for rent among our tenants.

Mine requires a PAD be set up to withdraw condo fees but for other things such as a replacement FOB they only accept cheques. (Downtown Toronto)

Our few tenants who pay cash are typically over 60 or international students. We issue them deposit-only bank cards and it is their responsibility to ensure their rent is in the bank on-time.
