Lead Disclosure not provided with lease

Brandon Weiler
Posted
I have a tenant living in a single family property built prior to 1978 in Virginia. They are on their third lease term. Unfortunately, I used an old lease template I received from my in-laws which does not have a lead disclosure. I am JUST now finding out that its federal law to do so. What’s the best course for me to take to try to protect myself?

I would just bring the form and brochure to them. Tell them that you forgot to give this to them, and that there are no issues that you are aware of.
