Buying and renting in a bad neighborhood?

WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON BUYING PROPERTIES IN BAD NEIGHBORHOODS THEN RENTING THEM TO SECTION 8 TENANTS??? GOOD IDEA OR BAD IDEA???

If it's an area with lower income working families but has fairly well maintained houses then it's a good idea. On the other hand, if it's a lower income area with single unemployed people and run-down houses, it's a bad idea. Most people on Section 8 have children and expect to live in a somewhat decent neighborhood. As far as renting to Section 8 tenants, it depends on your opinions about them.
