Visiting Scottsdale - looking to meet some STR experts

Hey all, I just went under contract for my first STR investment in Scottsdale, AZ (4/2 SFH). I will be visiting next week for a few days on Wednesday and Thursday (11/6 - 11/7). Looking to network with other STR investors or service providers. I'd really like to meet some co-hosts or property managers. I'm also looking for cleaning referrals! If you'd be interested in connecting shoot me colleague request. Thank you!

Congrats @Greg Schuricht!  I can't wait to hear about your experience.

I am actually an Airbnb host.  As of Jan 1st, I will have Superhost status.  It happened by happy accident actually.  My husband and I just completed a flip in a community where we also hold a long term rental.  We had decided to sell our long term rental, but wanted the flip project to sell first in order to set a good comp for the other, which is in a better location.  Long story-short, we decided to put it up on Airbnb while we were finishing the rehab for the flip, and going through the marketing and escrow process.  I went into it hoping to at least cover the property expenses.  After all, I didn't think many people would be visiting AZ during August or Sept.

As it turns out, our place has been booked pretty regularly!  We have earned more than our previous Tenant paid us in rent on that unit.  It has been interesting to experience.

There was nothing special about the place, or its location. We applied the same philosophy to the STR as our long term rental properties. Our place was updated in a fan favorite color scheme (grays, whites), and furnished the same way. Although we didn't spend a ton on furnishings. We made smart choices for new pieces, and used inventory from some of our staging furniture for the rest. We also ensured that the place was SPOTLESS. We are always surprised at the level of filth that some of these places present in.....it's the same for long term rentals. We are always shocked to go into potential competition for our rental portfolio only to find the place dirty. So, we make sure all of our places sparkle like a shiny penny.

So, I am sure that your place in Scottsdale will thrive.

Anyway, I just wanted to offer you encouragement.  It seems like a scary step to take, but the water isn't too cold.  I am glad you decided to put a toe in. :)
