Hello BP Community! New here to the site and I am interested in purchasing some short term rentals in Florida. Looking to get some insight on where would be the best location with the best rate of return. Ideally want something that would be rented out 85 percent of the time. I like the beach and my husband likes the Disney area (Windmere Community). Wondering if anyone has experience with both and can share some insight on what direction to go. We looking for a sure bet something that we won't lose money on. We would also be using the home ourselves at times during the year. TIA

I work with investors to buy short-term vacation rentals here in the Orlando Disney area. You mentioned he likes the Windermere community you would want to make sure that this is not in Orange county. Orange county does not allow short-term vacation rentals. You will want to find a property in Osceola or Polk county near Disney world for your short-term vacation rental. You have to be cautious when buying properties on beaches as many small municipalities along with Coast have restrictive ordinances on where you can or can't operate a short-term rental. I can put you in contact with a realtor and property manager over in Daytona Beach if you have an interest in that area. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to schedule a time to chat.

Thanks. I might be calling the development by the wrong name. Its in an area by Disney and they can be rented short term, there is a water park and pool in the development. If you want to send me some listings for houses that are 2500 Square Feet or larger close to Disney that are able to be rented STR that would be great. My email [email protected]

I own one on the beach in Panama City beach and a home in Orlando. Both can do great. The Orlando house was a lot more affected with covid but this year the demand is super strong for Disney. I think you might mean Windsor hills in Orlando. Either way happy to chat more our help you on the lending side as I specialize in vacation homes financing as well as self manage my own. My number is in my profile if you want to reach out.
