Riverside County | Covid + Evictions + Closed Courts

Fabian Wizenfeld
Posted

Hi BP, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

SITUATION:
Bought a 4plex (Riverside county, CA) in December. End of January we had to file for 3 evictions due to none payment. 2 Writ of possession were issued by the court but they didn't get mailed out on time and courts closed. The other one has been set for trial.

Saw this article that landlords in Upland are suing the city and therefore they are going to repeal the ban on evictions.

Does anyone have any further information for filed evictions prior to Covid?

Thank you!!

@Fabian Wizenfeld Hi Fabian, the State’s Judicial Council adopted emergency rules a couple of weeks ago that state that courts won’t hear unlawful detainer or foreclosure actions until 90 days after the Governor’ State if Emergency is lifted.  You should look those up and see how they apply to your specific case.
