My real estate experience started with me giving someone a check, good check mind you, for $995. He was going to show me how to buy, fix and sell houses to make a whole lot of money. You probably know how this story ended. This initial sting creeps up for me from time to time. Joining BiggePockets was one of those times. But after several weeks of canvassing the site, I have concluded not only its legitimacy, but more importantly its enormous value. I invest in distressed properties in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I call them distressed as they scream at me - HELP!!! I have a background in engineering and project management, hence the fixing is actually the fun and easy part. Managing my own compassion to the point I do not wait until a tenant is thousands, yes thousands, in the rear before I move on the situation. This is my toughest situation as a real estate investor, I really do believe people are good and that they are honest when they say - next week I promise. I read the advice on BP - set your policy and stick to it! The setting is easy, the sticking to it is still tough. I am looking forward to engaging around this challenge.

Thanks!

Hi @Traxon Rachell , welcome to BP!

I am also in the Cleveland market investing in a lot of distressed SFH and Multis. I'd love to meet up on my next trip to Cleveland and see what you're up to and if we can do any business together.

You will find that this is the BEST RE forum out there. Period. End of discussion. There is so much great info here, and so many knowledgeable people who are more than willing to offer advice and assistance. All you have to do is ask.

Enjoy!
