New Investor from Amsterdam (Europe) — Learning from the US Market

Hi everyone,

I’m Luca, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands (Europe). I run a multi-store e-commerce business in the professional beauty equipment niche — we’ve scaled to ~€3M+ in annual revenue across Europe, and now I’m looking to diversify by stepping into real estate investing.

Here's the thing: I'm not yet sure which REI path is the right fit for me (buy-and-hold, multi-family, commercial, etc.). That's why I joined BiggerPockets — to learn from one of the most experienced REI communities in the world.

My goals right now are to:

  • Explore different REI strategies through the forums, podcasts, and community
  • Understand what lessons from the US market can be applied in Europe
  • Connect with others who are (or were) in a similar “figuring-it-out” phase

If you were in my shoes — starting fresh, based in Europe, with a solid business background but new to real estate — where would you begin?

Looking forward to your thoughts and advice!

Cheers,

Luca

Welcome, Luca! I'm not based in Europe, but good luck with starting your real estate investing career!
