Hi Everyone,

New to real estate investing. Went to one of the guru seminars and did the three day workshop but didnt go further. I learned a lot. Most of all I learned that I can build my network of finding deals and private lenders on my own with a little work. I already have one small business in the fitness industry but real estate is where my heart has always been. I was an agent in Dallas many years ago but always wanted to be the investor. Want to connect and learn as much as I can. Been on the site for a couple of days and totally amazed at the info here. Going to one of the local REI clubs here in Alexandria and have started building my network. I have a person willing to mentor me on my first couple of deals who has done about 50 flips and has a pretty big rental portfolio.

Hello and welcome to BP!  I had a broker license for over 30 years and wife did not tell me about losing because I was still recovering.  Educate youself as much as you can before starting.  Always know that mistakes will be made no matter what you do.  Just get out there and keep on going.  Be patient and persistent and you will eventually do well.  Pick and know your market well.  Pick good locations within that market.  Pick an experienced and trustworthy Team that you can call when you need them.  That is especially true for Inspectors, you never know what they will say that you may have missed. Good luck!
