Hi there!

My name is Joe. I just bought my first house here in Colorado Springs about a month ago and since have gotten pretty interested in learning more about real estate and real estate investing. I was actually introduced to this site by my roommate who just bought a rental property in the area. He started listening to the podcast and got me to do the same.

I am originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota but I am in the Army currently stationed at Fort Carson here in Colorado. My goal is really just to learn as much as possible because I could see myself pursuing real estate investment as I move towards getting out of the Army in 3 years. I don't know if I would stay here in Colorado or if I would try to move back to South Dakota. I love both places for different reasons so both are legitimate options. I also don't know if I would invest in real estate as a career or as a hobby. But I figure at 23 years old, now is as good a time as any to start getting smart!

I look forward to engaging with the community here on Bigger Pockets!

Joe

Congrats Joe! I think you can do great in either of those markets, just be patient... Great idea planning ahead, also, don't forget to take full advantage of your VA eligibility--great for helping with house hacking. Do some homework and find out what kind of properties (think "outdated" rather than "distressed") you can buy with a VA loan and live in while you build equity. Wish I had started this at 23!
