Just starting desperate for advice

Hi all,

My name is Matt and I am just starting my journey into real estate. My story kind of goes like this....

Born and raised in eastern North Carolina, graduated high school, went to college for two years, ran out of money, joined the army reserves, employed at FedEx ground as a driver, deployed to Afghanistan, came back to FedEx, honarable discharge from the army, after working 8 years for FedEx went to go work for the family I.T. business last October (2016), some things went kind of shady so I decided to put my notice in to leave at the end of July. Now I have about a month and a half to figure out how to sustain myself and my family with starting a business in real estate. I'm 30 years old, married and have 2 kids.

I've been studying wholesaling but not ready nor confident enough to start making offers. I've been reading "The Art of Wholesaling Properties", listening to cleaver investor and taking advice from my personal favorite Grant Cardone. Although Grant is big time and doesn't really do anything with wholesaling I still find his advice worth while. I would like to see a simple step by step procedure of how real estate investing works. I know Clever Investor has a course that looks inviting but honestly guys I don't know WHERE to start. I have about a month and a half to figure this out and would like to have a good place to start.

Please help.

Sorry to say, in my honest opinion, for 99% of people in your situation, try something you never tried before, based on a course by a guru, and need step by step instructions, you're not ready. Making it doubly worse is you have a family to support.

That is unless you have a year's cash reserve to see you through.

I don't know you personally, don't know if you have a magnetic sales personality. For what you want to do, that helps a lot. Besides, you have to know the markets you should operate in, whether wholesaling would work in it, pick one or two out, but it sounds like you haven't even started to look at that aspect.

If you're collecting unemployment, you can give it try, but  you can't under the circumstances, which would be very difficult.

I wish you the best of luck.
