Hello BiggerPockets community! My name is Felix Campos and I currently reside in Houston, Texas and will be relocating to the Greater Austin area this summer, where my girlfriend will be practicing medicine. I plan to leave my current career in engineering to become a full-time "buy and hold" multifamily real estate investor. My goal is to create a portfolio to secure financial independence .

I'm currently working my way through a reading list consisting of books on multifamily investing and listening to podcasts on the same subject, and am looking forward to the connections I will make here on BiggerPockets.

@Felix Campos Welcome and best of luck to you. How much do you have ready for your first deal? Do you really need to leave what I am assuming is a good paying Engineering job when you can begin investing in RE part time? Just my two cents. Why not keep the job and sock away 90% of that income to scale into some properties faster?
