Hello Everyone,
My name is Matt Garcia. My wife and I currently live in Seattle, WA. I've been a Certified Public Accountant for over two years. I worked in public accounting for a few years as an auditor before transitioning to an internal accounting/finance role at a local tech company. I enjoy building financial reports, data analysis, and all things numbers. Outside of work, my wife and I love to travel and have become experts at earning and using travel rewards to explore places around the world.
I created my account several months ago, but was inactive during that time. I recently picked up The Book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner, which inspired me to log into my old BiggerPockets account and introduce myself.
My interest in real estate investing started due to our journey towards financial independence. Real estate investing seemed like a great way to diversify our investments and create passive income. After reading a couple books, I made a resolution this year to research, learn, and hopefully buy our first rental property. I am primarily interested in long-term rentals and utilizing the BRRRR technique to finance them. The Seattle market is a little bit out of our price range right now so I've been looking at opportunities throughout Washington state. I would consider investing in out of state market, but am not sure if that's the best first step.
Looking forward to being part of this community and connecting with other like-minded people!
Matt Garcia
