Is getting real estate license beneficial?

Hi everyone, I just joined the Bigger Pockets community and also am just starting to get into real estate investing. When coronavirus restrictions ease up, my dad is going to come home from the Phillippines and we’re going to start investing in primarily small multi-family homes in the Northeast Ohio area. I want to build a portfolio over the years and live off of passive income someday. I’m curious how beneficial it would be for somebody with those goals to go and get their real estate license? I’m excited to be a member on here and hopefully meet some people in my area as well! Thanks!

It depends on how you plan to reach your goals. If you want to build a client base to learn more and partner then yes. If you want to find off-market deals then having a license can be more challenging.
