COVID brought me back home to Asheville, NC and to real estate!
Hi everyone! I'm Hannah Grady Williams, a 22-year-old Gen Z'r and as my day job (and passion), I have the pleasure of serving as an employee engagement consultant for companies seeking to attract, recruit, hire, and engage Gen Z talent.
All this being said, I'm an absolute NEWBIE real estate investor. My family's been investing in residential real estate (SFR and small multi-family) for 25+ years, but I'm just starting to build my own portfolio. I'm pouring over Bigger Pockets content, books, and the MLS - learning my market here in Asheville, NC - and am seeking to learn from more experienced investors here on Bigger Pockets. Thank you to everyone who's poured their time into helping people like me get started!
My vision is to acquire a portfolio of high cash-flowing SFR, mobile home parks, and small turnkey multi-family units over the next few years, beginning locally here in the Asheville/Hendersonville NC region, but eventually, I'd love to invest in turnkey properties across the states. I can't wait to meet many of you on Bigger Pockets and learn more about how we can help each other along this journey!
I'm curious for all the newbies on here, if you could remove ONE thing that's holding you back from beginning the road to financial freedom, what would it be?

Hi Hannah! Newbie from Asheville here too! What's currently holding me back that I'd like to remove are the barriers I have that prevent me from getting a mortgage quickly. I have changed jobs many times in the last few years. I have great credit, and great credit credentials, but the underwriting process has been slow due to my fluctuating career path. The rates are so hot right now, I want to pounce, but find it hard to do so - especially since I will be imminently be changing jobs AGAIN here soon. This is a very specific example, but it's what I feel limits my ability to be engaged in REI as much as I'd like right now - and investing is a big part of my financial freedom goals.
