As you digest your Thanksgiving meal, you might find it reassuring that the obesity epidemic is not limited to humans. According to an article in the Economist, turkeys are gaining weight even faster than Americans.

One exception might be wild turkeys. I stopped my car the day after Thanksgiving to let a family of wild turkeys cross the street. It was a family of two adults and 6 teen-age turkeys. It was a heart-warming sight. And they were nice & lean looking. They even took flight.
