I called Sears to get my dryer repaired & I got a call center in India. It was very frustrating when I had to keep repeating myself due to the apparent language barrier. When I took the day off from work, and the repair man didn't show, I was not reassured by the fact that I was calling somewhere in India about a repairman that was a no-show in NY. When I tried to complain, all I got was a runaround and still no repairs on my dryer.
Today, when the repairman showed up, I joked with him, "At least they can't send your job to India." BTW, who's going to buy all those $2,000-$3000 appliances at Sears, if they're sending their jobs overseas?

I was thinking that he looked like a cross between Uncle Fester and Nosforatu...but I see how you get Dr. Evil about him.
Poor guy was losing his hair, so he had to shave it all off.

I read that Jessica Simpson is dating Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins ? WTH? I guess Courtney Love is getting a bit too old for him....

I think you should wait, if your commission is at risk. As soon as that deal closes, you're free as a bird to go wherever you want.

I know about PBS -- in fact, I watch PBS for scientific documentaries, college telecourses, cultural programs, etc.-- and it is member supported. So I guess that is free TV, for those who like to watch it and don't contribute to it.
But there are always going to be businesses and organizations who are willing to pay for advertising on TV, so this is a moot point.

Examples of why free TV matters: Freedom of speech. Keeping the public informed. The public emergency broadcasting system.

I don't come to this forum looking for an argument.

I lived without a TV for 6 months once, and I didn't miss it very much.
When I do watch TV, it's mostly news channels anyway, although I do indulge in a little Showtime sometimes.
I don't think that getting rid of free TV would be very Constitutional, would it?

Like any other celebrity, Tiger is subject to public scrutiny -- whether he deserves it or not. He never claimed to be a priest or a perfect person. Being a celebrity not only brings wealth and fame, but also the consequences of fame, and the potential for notoreity.
It doesn't really surprise me that he had some extramarital affairs. Many celebrities have.
When celebrities fall from grace, there are always those people who love to revel in their failings.
I'm not going to take the moral high ground here. I think anyone could give in to temptation. I just think Tiger is a great golfer, and people should leave the guy alone. He's got more than enough problems right now.

I was wondering why there might be a cover-up in this case, especially if there was domestic violence involved.
It turns out that FL has very harsh laws regarding domestic violence, so it would be in both parties' best interests to remain silent about the possibility that domestic violence occurred. Otherwise, one or both of them would face jail time and loss of custody of the children -- not to mention years of scrutiny from CPS workers.

I don't think it is appropriate to infer that people are jealous or ignorant just because they have an opinion.
Did anyone consider that maybe she was chasing him with the golf club, and maybe SHE beat him to a pulp BEFORE he crashed his Escalade?
But she "rescued" him by smashing the rear window of the car. Yeah, right.
