I created a LLC through legal zoom and the name of my LLC has the word investments behind it so legal zoom is telling me i need consent from the mortgage lending division in the state of Nevada, apparently "investments" represents mortgage lending as well. I just want some clarification on this, I am investing in notes and maybe rentals. Do i need consent from them in case i do mortgage lending and am not licensed to do it? Please advise. Thank in advance.

    @Varinder Kumar,

    If you can, try choosing a name this neutral and generic, like "xxx Associates", "xxx Industries", "xxx Enterprises", maybe add "of (state-name)", if needed. Then, get a "doing business as" name that you can use on cards, correspondence, advertising, etc., ala "xxx Enterprises, doing business as" in small print and "xxx Investments" in a larger font.

    The state, lenders, insurers, etc. should only see the officially registered entity name, and not the dba name, but check that with your local people. There may be local requirements about dbas.
